LaSalle plans to spend a million dollars a year leasing snow clearing equipment for the next three winters.
During their regular October meeting, councillors passed two resolutions, $2,771,547.97 for 21 graters and $179,705.94 for four tow trucks, all of which will be leased by the hour. Together, the resolutions cover contracts for ten companies. Each contract is renewable for an additional two years.
The cost of renting three tow trucks costs a little more than $14,000 per year each, while one costs $16,671.38 per year. Contracts cover two from Service de Remorquage A-1 LaSalle for $86,576.16 and one each from 9064-2711 Québec Inc. (Remorquage Mobile) for $43,115.64 and Gestion Normar Inc. for $50,014.14. The owners of the companies are Dominic Lecchino, Steve Lenfesty and Normand Martin respectively.
Graters cost from $44 to $48 thousand each per year.
The three-year contracts with the seven different companies cover the lease of 20 graters for the following fees:
- 2 from Niveleuse AMF for $262,143.00;
- 7 from Location S. Carrier Inc. for $991,045.44 (three of these graters have special side shovels);
- 2 from Pépinière et paysagiste Marina Inc. for $269,041.15;
- 2 from Les Entreprises Pierre Ladouceur Inc. for $280,079.13;
- 2 from Transport Patrick Brisebois Inc. for $276,284.91;
- 4 from Les Pavages J.M. Beaulieu Inc. for $556,708.95 and
- 1 from Francis Vanier for $136,245.39.
The owners of the first six companies are: Mario Arsenault; Yvon Carrier; Vincenzo, Franco and Marcello Menniti; Pierre Ladouceur; Patrick Brisebois; and Sylvain Beaulieu respectively. Transport Patrick Brisebois operates out of Legris & Associé, 1200 Avenue Dollard. Francis Vanier is an individual operating under his own name. He’s located in Ste. Martine.
Note: A previous version of this story appeared on p14 of yesterday’s Suburban; that version has Francis Vanier supplying two graters rather than one and doesn’t identify him as an individual.
