I met with Chantale Michaud in her riding office last week for an interview in English. Michaud confirmed the major parts of her history of active public service in Verdun, including her participation on the board of directors of Station, an intergenerational community center on Nun’s Island for seniors and youth. She also talks about the campaign events during the 2012 election and then discusses her admiration for the successful integration of CLSCs and hospitals in Verdun and the positive impact of permanent employees on service in Verdun Hospitals and the need to extend these kinds of ideas to health organizations throughout Quebec. In the second part of our discussion, she speaks about local issues, such as the Zone Franche, which she would have voted against and the need for free education through university.
