Soldiers at Remembrance Day

My article about mental fitness concerns at Canada’s Royal Military College is in the current issue of Cross-Currents.

It compares the death of Mathieu Robert LeClair last February with the death of Joe Grozelle in November 2003. Grozelle’s death has never been explained.

The article finishes with a thought from Joe’s father:

Whether harassment played a role in Mathieu’s death or not, Ron Grozelle hopes that pag members will be among the witnesses whom investigators speak to during their investigation. “Here we have the death of another young man. If he did commit suicide, what were the factors that caused that to happen? Was there abuse, bullying or something else? The investigation needs to find that out.”

The whole issue is well worth reading. My friend Alex Roslin has an opinion piece about the death of Stuart Langridge as well.
