Verdun—Gaz Metropolitain has to replace 15 different pipes to various buildings on Wellington Street, between Second Avenue and Hickson.
The street will be down to one lane on weekdays between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. until at least Friday, May 10 and perhaps into the following week as well. The work began last week.
“We won’t close the street, but sometimes we have to move equipment from one side to the other,” said Maryse Beaudoin, the technician who is in charge of the project. Beaudoin says that they’re using flag people to slow traffic when this occurs, but it shouldn’t last for longer than a few minutes.
The project began at Second Avenue on April 23 and is slowly moving east.
