Verdun’s borough meeting will be held in the Centre Parc Elgar on Nun’s Island on Wednesday, July 2 instead of occurring in city hall on July 8.
This is a chance for citizens of all ages to come and meet us and these meetings in the park during summer,” says mayor Jean-François Parenteau. “Our goal is to bring our deliberations closer to people. People who don’t normally attend meetings might consider coming if they are held closer to where they live.”
This is the second of three outdoor meetings the borough planned for this summer. The June 3rd one took place in a tent on Nun’s Island northern point in Parc de l’Esplanade. The tent was full, so Parenteau felt that the council’s experiment was something worthwhile.
The next meeting will be held on September 2 in the borough greenhouse in Crawford Park.
As usual, all the meetings will be webcast so that citizens who can’t attend can see the decisions their borough councillors make on their behalf.
