Core-Mark: Cross-border Cooperation Fulfills Local Needs

by Tracey Arial in Canada0 Comments

Last month, I interviewed Chuck Arcand from the Core-Mark whole-sale distributor. Arcand and his team are all working hard to provide fresh food to the convenience store channel and they’ll do anything to make it happen, even distribute to a competitor.

My favourite Arcand quote:

The consumers’ perception of the channel is an ongoing battle for us and we’re trying to move it to a healthier perception. We want retailers seen as more a destination than a tobacco-only channel. It’s working, but I think that we need to understand that it’s a ten to fifteen year process.”
