I haven’t spoken to Henri-François Gautrin yet, but his staff gave me a list of his schedule for the next two weeks and an outline of the two local issues that are most important to him.

Until August 22, Henri-François Gautrin will concentrate on meeting people and visiting institutions and social organizations.

Here is a list of his confirmed activities:

  • August 12 ( 10h30 A.M.) mass at St-Willibroard parish
  • August 12 Verdun Mosque for ramadan
  • August 14, visit to seniors at Habitation Aurore Marceau
  • August 15, (8h P.M.) presence at the concert at theVerrière 6 complex on Nuns Island
  • August 16 speech at the opening of the Institut du Nouveau Monde, at UQUAM (11 a.m.)
  • August 17 Conference at the Institut du Nouveau Monde at UQUAM (11 a.m.)
  • August 17 Acadian national day celebration, restaurant Au vent des ïles (7 p.m.)
  • August 17 Loblaw’s Hot dog activity, for MANNA ( food bank ), IDS (2 p.m.)
  • August 18 Bio market, Nun’s Island (noon)
  • August 18 h Danse at the chapiteau Verdun
  • August 19h Restaurant and Centre Elgar, Nun’s Island
  • August 21, noon, Résidence 4000 Bannantyne ( corn roast )
  • August 22 Concert at Notre Dame de Lourdes Church ( 7:30 p.m.)

Major local issues:

Mr. Gautrin wil continue to fight for the right of every child of Nun’s Island to have a primary school.

He will also continue to fight for every senior citizen to have better home care services.
